The vessels are constructed using the ancient technique of coiling. Mary wraps a core of "Fiber-Flex" (a compressed paper and nylon material) with a natural fiber yarn such as wool, cotton, silk, waxed linen, or metallic fiber or wire. The vessel is shaped as the core is wrapped and stitched. Some vessels may have handles, lids, or other embellishments such as beads and tassels. Sizes vary from 3" to 18" in diameter and 1" to 24" tall.
